it says that the charge can be quantized ( broken down into indivisible pieces) like is the indivisible pieces the electrons or protons? and if they are what are they breaking down from?

Yes the quanization of charge is just the individual protons and electrons. (It turns out it goes beyond that but I doubt you are in a particle physics class). Protons and electrons are broken down from atoms.
