"For the following, identify the source of the allusion(where did it come from) and the explanation (what does it mean) of the allusion itself: 1.)"Like the prodigal son, he returned to his home town and was welcomed by all who knew him" 2.) "Although I think they meant well, in a lot of ways their gift seemed to be more of a Trojan Horse." 3.)"Although she was the picture of clean, healthy living, chocolate was her Achilles' heel." 4.)"With his dad now gone, he had began to feel as if he were carrying the weight of the world on this shoulders."
Hmm. The sources should be pretty easy, Think-where does the parable of the prodigal son come from? The Bible. The Trojan horse? Greek history. Achille's heel? Greek mythology. The last one is based off the myth of Atlas, so it's also from Greek mythology.
Hmm thanks I'll look into those. I also have a few more questions and was wonder if you would be familiar with them. "With this dad now gone, he began to feel as if he he were carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders." ""Because he drove like a kamikaze, Allen ended up with five tickets in a little over a month." "After nearly a year of remodeling, our home was finally a little utopia."
Don't know about the last two, sorry.
Its fine thank you anyways =D
