can someone read this over, and help with corrections????!?! Imagine you are living in the future, and nothing is like what it is supposed to be, everything In society has changed, and everyone follows a unethical set of rules. In this future I can not fail to mention that there is a new Alien race ready to come to America. In the Book Enders Game, the new found future not only brought aliens, but a lack of human rights, including a negligance of children work rights, freedom, and education. That seems like a pretty jacked up future to me. To start off,Children around the world are working Illegally and their rights are being neglected daily. They put in strenuos amounts of effort to work and provide, that they forget what it is like to be a kid. "But shouldn't they still act like children? They aren't normal. They act like – history. Napoleon and Wellington. Caesar and Brutus." (7.10). This is a quote from the text that two adults noticed from the space center. They observed that the kids do not even act like kids, but they acted like adults who were taught to work. This proves that their work rights were neglected. They never had time to play tag or make mistakes, it was always business, and there was no time for breaks either. Another thing that proved they worked in slave like conditions was how the author described the children. “Out of the woods emerged a dozen slavering wolves with human faces. Ender recognized them – they were the children from the playground. Only now their teeth could tear; Ender, weaponless, was quickly devoured.” (7.69). This sentence alone proves that the children lived and worked in poor conditions and that the kids were obviously tired. Slavering wolves, show that they looked tired and were wore down.Children have the right to have an education, or only work certain amount of hours. The book makes me feel like they work many sleepless nights, and long hours until they get it right. Could you Imagine working until you hurt, all to make someone else happy? Not the ideal image of an average persons childhood. Furthermore, I would not be able to imagine where my freedom was just a piece of meat, and my opinion did not matter, unfortunatly the children had to go through this at the space center.“Human beings are free except when humanity needs them.” (4.81). Colonel Graff told Ender this, and this proves they have a lack of freedom at the space center because as long as they need him the kids have to do whatever he says, even if it is against their will. They have no freedom to express their opinion. People fought to make sure people mattered and clearly to colonel Graff that has no meaning. Who cares what they feel, as long as the job gets done. “ He had no choice. No choice about anything.(7.242). This shows lack of freedom because the kids were not allowed to express any of their emotions. If they objected Graff would either threaten them or manipulate them. Ender often did not agree with Graff’s ways and each time he wanted to voice his feelings about it Graff would bring up his sister, or how ender is only a child and his opinion does not matter, but our freedom of speech applies to all, not to those who believe they are helping the world. Also, The rule applied to adults. If you had more than three children you have a bad name, and the “third” as they call it should be a failure. Everything in the future was limited your happiness and your freedom. In addition,Living a life where all that is important is school is unimaginable. The reason I brought this up is because Battle school determined your fate. If you failed a class you get a label that you are not good enough. Double standards were placed on children. Girls automatically were considered less smart and needed to work harder than everyone else. There was no such thing as a mistake in that school. Could you imagine that? Having to work so hard to prove to everyone you are the best, because if you do not your whole future would have been on the line? the right to education encompasses the obligation to rule out discrimination at all levels of the educational system, they need to have lower standards and make education equal to the students. even though they faced these troubles they also faced being taken away from normal school. The commanders of the space center would go to your house and tell you that you need to be with them. They take you away from your families, and a normal school. In battle school you do not learn the common core either. You learn about aliens, how to assemble battle ships and how to fight. I think the children in the school are entitled to a curriculum everyone else receives. They had a right to be in proper school. Not a school that put you in danger constantly by teaching you to use guns and fight. In conclusion, The book Enders Game faces a lot of conflict. When I think of the future I have a idea of things that are unexplainable by words. Having your work rights, Freedom, and Educational rights taken away from you in a blink of an eye was not my ideal image. I would have gone crazy if I lived in that world. Everything was ripped away from the kids like it was candy from a baby. Could you live in a future when everything you value is not important? I know I sure could not.
