OpenStudy (yamyam70):

@surjithayer Did you substitute n with a negative and positive integer and plug it in all of the choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A n=-1 \[\left( -1 \right)^2-1=1-1=0\] neither negative nor positive. B. n=-2 \[2\left( -1 \right)^2-1=2-1=1\] positive integer. C. n=2 \[2^2-2^3=4-8=-4\] it is a negative integer. D. n=-2 \[\left( -2 \right)^3-2=-8-2=-10\] not a positive integer. E. try any negative integer.

OpenStudy (yamyam70):
