can i get some quick math help??Point A is located at (0, 4), and point C is located at (−3, 5). Find the x value for point B that is located one over four the distance from point A to point C. −0.25 −0.5 −0.75 −1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

−0.25 −0.5 −0.75 −1

@amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is the x distance from A to C to start with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i do have an answer. i kinda wanted you too check it. is it a?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

its not a, if the x distance was -1 to start with then -1/4 would be correct .... but that is not what we have to start with

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x is from 0 to -3, for total distance of: 3 in the negative direction we want that divided by 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then it has to be c?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

-3/4 yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i have to do that, to get- 0.75?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

of course. in order to find 1/4 the distance, we take the distance and divide it by 4. and the distance is from 0 to -3.
