OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

How do I mathematically prove this? What is the physics here?

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

center of gravity, center of mass; equilibrium stuff is roughly my thoughts

OpenStudy (surry99):

Draw a FBD and apply the equations of equilibrium....that's it

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

@surry99 Can you draw the forces for equilibrium on it? If it was that simple, I wouldn't have asked it here. @amistre64 Okay, but what are the forces on the objects and how to prove it is in equilibrium mathematically?

OpenStudy (surry99):

I did not say it was easy, I was pointing out the principles to apply to solve the problem. And yes I have already solve it.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

cant prove much from a picture but .... as i see it, if this thing is to balance and stay put then the forces have to cancel out and the center of gravity is above the balancing point |dw:1418241724124:dw|
