find the angle the normal makes with the positive x axis 3x-2y-1=0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

any thoughts?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i know that its tanx=3sqroot13/13/2sqroot13/13, i just dont know how to get the angle

OpenStudy (amistre64):

a normal and a tangent are 90 degrees from each other ... they are perpendicular. depending on how you are finding these things .... gradient f defines the normal:\[\nabla f=(f_x,f_y)\] in this case: (3,-2)
