Analyze the discriminant of the quadratic equation: h(x)=x^2-2x-35. How do I find the discriminant? Thank you so much !

OpenStudy (freckles):

discriminant=b^2-4ac where you identity the a,b, and c from f(x)=ax^2+bx+c

OpenStudy (freckles):

if b^2-4ac is positive you have two real roots if b^2-4ac is zero you have one real real root (with multiplicity 2) if b^2-4ac is negative you have no real roots but 2 complex roots
