It could be that they are running out of space in some database and hey need @c0decracker to work behind the scenes and fix it :)

Well Facebook and Openstudy are 2 different websites. Both have different servers and all.

And Facebook for one has much more money ( like 100x more than OS) to keep their site better.

Maybe because there is a surplus in users.

Lag occurs when the number of users logged into the website outnumbers the maximum amount of users its servers can handle. Mostly OS suffers from lag in the mornings (PST).
