so you want to map a length of 2ft to 8in and a width of 3ft to 10in

converting to same units gives you 24 ---> 8 36 ---> 10 find the shrink factor of each and see which one is least (fits )

8/24 = 1/3 = 0.333 10/36 = 0.28 the restrictive of these is 10/36 so this will be the maximum scale factor that you can use

multiply 24 and 36 by your sale factor for the dimensions on paper : 24*10/36 = 2*10/3 = `5 1/3` 36*10/36 = `10`
