What was one effect of the popularity of suburbia in the1950s? Whites moved out of the cities, taking their wealth with them. Housing prices shot up, and soon the middle class could not afford to live there. Women, who weren’t working 9 to 5, became important players in town politics. Light rail train systems sprang up to transport people between city and suburb. Automobiles became more expensive because demand was very high. @Escobar17 @elmm29 @amberpruitt Your Apart of this to now lml
