What did the English Bill of Rights accomplish? A. It protected debtors from going to prison for owing money. B. It gave Parliament the right to choose kings and limit how long they reigned. C. It restricted the powers of the king and increased the power of Parliament. D. It ended the monarchy and made England a republic. I will give a medal to the first person to answer.

The English Bill of Rights was the result of a long struggle throughout the 1600s between Parliament and the monarchy. Catholic and Protestant kings had switch things up during this time. One was outlawed and then the other. Parliament even tried going without a king. That didn't work. So they ended up getting rid of the latest Catholic and invited William of Orange and his wife Mary to come and invade. William and Mary agreed to the restrictions of the Bill of Rights. Catholics were never allowed to be king or queen of England after that.
