how do you simplify (2x^2+3x-4)-(x^2+5x-1)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

just collect like terms and take care with distributing the -1 associated with the 2nd set of brackets it becomes \[(2 -1)x^2 +(3 - 5)x +(-4 + 1)\] just simplify

OpenStudy (anonymous):
