@skate-4-life270, there is no equal sign in the equation, so we're only simplifying. (16x^3+24x^2)/2x Divide each term by 2x: (16x^3/2x) + (24x^2/2x) 8x^2 + 12x When you check your solution: 2x(8x^2 + 12x) = 16x^3 + 24x^2 So the answer is actually 8x^2 + 12x
