Do you have Python v2.xx on your machine? Most of the Python courses don't use Python v3.

The only idea that I have is wondering if you're double-clicking on the file instead of doing File>Open with your editor?
I tried doing file>open and it is still not working
I checked the copy I have on my Mac. I'd be surprised if this is it, but I don't have any idea why an editor can't open this file, I checked and the file only has linefeeds, not the carriage return/linefeed combo that Windows wants.
