ATTENTION!!! Are you doing things on Open Study that might be illegal in the laws of the U.S.? please CLICK HERE to find out more

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Uhhhhhhh /.\

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Ok first of all OS has a problem that people use this site as dating. OS doesn't want dating mainly because most people on here are pervs and just want nude picutres...... this is very illegal and is considered Child pornography.

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Doesn't matter if it's on cam or by pictures it's still considered child pornography. We need to avoid this because even thought u might try to delete the evidence from your computer, your computer or any type of device has a little drive that saves this deleted items and the first place police check are in this compartment. This is practically like prostitution.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

No, OpenStudy does not allow dating behavior because it is not the purpose of OpenStudy. There are legal and appropriate places for that sort of thing. They have their own legal problems. We do have Moderators who TRY to control that sort of thing, but there really cannot be enough moderators to cover ALL the foolish behavior that occurs in the chats. We continue to hope for some voluntary compliance with the Terms of Service and Code of Conduct accepted at the time each account is created.

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

I am addressing this issue due to some users that believe that this is not illegal, and most of them are over 18 of age and still think its ok to be collecting these disturbing images or videos. and @tkhunny yes but come on lets face the truth how many users do we see on here really reporting creeps that ask out people. Not many because the user receiving it likes it cause first it starts out as friendship then bf and gf.

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

But @tkhunny is right ^_^ we dont only want you to go by the rules of the U.S. but also go within the borders of the OS CoC you may take a look at this page and how small the rules are to keep a good record on OS without getting introuble. If you dont know where to find this link please click the link. http://prntscr.com/5fs2eu

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

This isn't so much of the problem I think. Most of the users are appropriate, as far as that goes. There is a different problem about those who are just looking for answers, and that is actually, without any jokes, has been a much more serious thing. When I help people here, I sometimes get a message something along this line " I am a teacher from ____ school, and I am checking if students are cheating" this t illegal answer-search has gone so far, even to such an extent !

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

Yes @SolomonZelman i was this as well ^ even the username is something like "flvs_teachers"

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

I believe this Dating problem isn't the only illegal thing.. Putting copy-right test questions is also...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TheSmartOne that is true...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

honestly yea you find some creeps on here every now and then but thats the society we live in and it is like this on every website which is why it is important to teach kids computer smarts. I also dont think uts as big of a problem as @just_one_last_goodbye is making it sound. Sure we all need to be aware but thats about it. Yes its illegal but its illegal for every website and there are other sites where this is a bigger issue.

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

@ispike thanks for your input ^_^

OpenStudy (unanimoose):

I can't begin to stress how annoying it is to find "i need a bf" or "anyone single" messages in the chats.

OpenStudy (just_one_last_goodbye):

^ true

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Yeah, why do you even have those stupid idiotic chats where people say nothing but foolish nonsense?

OpenStudy (conqueror):

Who says these rules are only in the US ? Mosts people on here probably aren't in the US.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@just_one_last_goodbye That first comment describes that prae person.

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

@just_one_last_goodbye Is there a link. You said CLICK HERE.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@confluxepic (FaceDesk)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's for people who aren't on the post and are reading the title so they will click on the post... >.>

OpenStudy (confluxepic):

Oh.

OpenStudy (conqueror):

2 BFFLs...or are they...? Talking with each other...o.O

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I suspect it would not be difficult to eliminate the oft'-misused chats. It would be a very effective, defensive thing to do. However, chats make OpenStudy unique, or very nearly so, among homework help websites. The chats bring people here, and not just the chat abusers. Personally, I would be fine with the chats and mostly even the abusers if only the two problems would go away. 1) When a student posts a question on the boards, a link is provided in the chats. Chat abusers just ignore such links. I have yet to click such a link and not find myself first to the question. That's just wrong. 2) Actually asking for help or posting question on a chat almost never produces help. Most of the time these simply are ignored, like the links. Other times, the poster is abused for interrupting the chat. Abusers think it's funny. That's just wrong.

Nnesha (nnesha):
