Which of the following correctly identifies the reactants and products of aerobic cellular respiration? Carbon dioxide + ATP + water → glucose + oxygen Glucose + oxygen → water + carbon dioxide + ATP Pyruvate + carbon dioxide → oxygen + water + ATP NADH + pyruvate → carbon dioxide + alcohol + NAD+

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The second statement.

This is my last questions so if you could explain it to me that would be great :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Glucose, a 6 carbon structure, is broken in half using 2 units of ATP to make pyruvate. The pyruvate goes through a 6 step process which creates 4 units of ATP. The oxygen is used as a final acceptor creating the end products of water and CO2.

Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes but what about photosynthesis???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would it be this? Carbon dioxide + water + energy → oxygen + glucose

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Photosynthesis is a different process which uses energy from the sunlight, glucose, and CO2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes it would, CO2 + light + water -> O2 + glucose
