Assuming that t = 1 hour, and James burns 800 calries in 2 hours, how many does he burn in one hour?

Mathematics isn't my area, but I believe it is C. Here is my reasoning: The sentence, "the number of calories burned, "C", varies directly with the time spent exercising, "t"." Basically says: c = kt. C = Calories burned. K = Proportionality Constant. T = The number of hours. In two hours James burns 800 calories, equation form: 800 = k(2). 800/2 = 400 So the answer is: C = 400t
