I don't understand domain and range

domain is 'x' and range is 'y'
for example (2,3) 2 is the domain because it is the 'x' value and 3 is the range because it is the 'y' value

The domain is the set of all first elements of ordered pairs (x-coordinates). The range is the set of all second elements of ordered pairs (y-coordinates)
domaine = set of all possible values for independent variable Range = Set of all values for the dependent variable
