OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

What causes the greenhouse effect? A. Radiated ultraviolet light can transmit through the atmosphere B. Visible light cannot transmit through the atmosphere C. The sun radiates mostly ultraviolet light D. Earth's radiated light cannot escape the atmosphere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

D is essentially the greenhouse effect. Light from the sun makes it down to earth no problem through the clouds... but the earth then re-radiates some of that energy back as lower energy radiation which cannot make it through the clouds and back out.

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

ok thanks. i was debating between B and D so that helps!
