What is the range of y = sin θ ?

please note that, by definition of the function: \[f(\theta)=\sin \theta\] we have the subsequent natural limits: \[-1\le y=f(\theta)\le +1\] \[\forall \theta \in \mathbb{R} \]
im really confused now..
why? please?
if you graph sin x you can see the range is between -1 and 1
