The cellular respiration goes through three functions: Glycosis--> Krebs cycle (or the citrus acid cycle) --> then Electric Transport. After the glycolsis, which involves the breakdown of glucose into two molecules, with three carbon sugars (pyruvate), it will result in two molecules of ATP that will be consumed and then four will be will be produced. This will gain a total of two ATP molecules. After it goes through the glycolsis process, the pyruvate will be transported across to the mitochondrial membranes--then into the matrix. You will see a series of reactions, which is know as the Krebs cycle. After it goes through, these series, it will have two ATP molecules. Finally it reaches the electric transport reactions, where it will complete the oxidation of the glucose, and it will then create an even greater amount of energy. Storage molecules will transfer many co-enzymes that control the production of ATP molecules. This will result in enzymes called ATP synthase. These enzymes will then produce ATP from ADP by the process called the oxidative phosphorylation. Now this phase of cellular respiration will result in 34 molecules of ATP. Hope that helps! n_n
