An organism has 12 chromosomes in its sex cells. It undergoes a process producing four daughter cells, each with 6 chromosomes. What is this process? fertilization mitosis meiosis

This would be meiosis. In meiosis, the parent cell splits into 4, giving half of its DNA to each daughter cell. Half of 12 chromosomes would be 6 chromosomes, so each daughter cell has 6 chromosomes.
