I heard that the chromosomes determine what sex you are. But what do they have to be for a boy, or a girl. If that made sense?

The 23rd pair of chromosomes, if the chromatids have 1 Long and one short its a male. If it has 2 long its a female. or the other way around. Its hard to remember which.

Thats exactly right, if the chromatids have 1 Long and one short its a male. If it has 2 long its a female. Thats how in DNA we determine if they have X or Y chromosomes, or if they have Klinefelter syndrome or Down syndrome.
