then since the total is \(1480\) that means
\[1480-x\] is the number of children
the adults spent $9 each for a total of \(9x\) and the children spent $6 each for a total of \(6(1480-x)\)

\[9x+6(1480-x)=10500\] and you can solve for \(x\)
