Which best describes the reason Romans persecuted early Christians? (2 points) Christians denounced the Roman practice of owning and selling slaves. Christians continued to practice the outlawed ritual of animal sacrifice. Christians declined to pay taxes because of Rome's polytheistic worship. Christians rejected the worship of the Roman emperor as a god.

@camerondoherty I'm pretty sure it's C. but I'm not sure...can you help?

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Why do you think its C?

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

Well because I know that the Romans practiced polytheist-ism

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

Ok, lets start off with A. It can't be A because it doesn't even make sense. It wasn't a reason. Was it B? No, Romans sacrificed animals as well, it wasn't a problem between the two. Could it be C? No, not really. They didn't decline taxes just because the Romans worshiped many Gods. Maybe D? Let's see Everyone in the Roman empire had to believe that the emporer was a God. The Christians believed only in One God. So did they reject the worship of the Roman Emporer as God? Absoulutely.

OpenStudy (vera_ewing):

@camerondoherty ohhh ok. thanks for taking the time to explain it. i appreciate your help :)
