how did the colonists show they didnt like the navigation acts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first Navigation Acts begun in the 1600s didn't hurt the American colonies much. But it was a different story with the Navigation Acts that were passed in 1774. They were intended to punish the people of Massachusetts for destroying the tea that they threw in Boston Harbor in Dec. 1773. This was the famous "Boston Tea Party". The Navigation Acts were also known as the "Coercive Acts" and became an important reason for uniting Britain's thirteen colonies against British rule. I hope that this has been a help to you.
