That answer is Containment because Eurpoe was beset by economic problems caused by the demobilisation of large number of soldiers. In Germany high unenployment caused social and economical problems.. Which then made Hitler and other National Socialists which seemed to be "attracting propostition" for a whole bunch of people... George Marshall and some of his Secretary were afraid that the nations would turn Communism because of this. Marshall's aid helped Europe's economies to make them successful. It then helped US get goods for markets and such to make the US also a better place... Does this make sense?
