multiply the 5(x-3y=-9) so you can get rid of x by using elimination

-17y=-52

@iGreen. ??? Do you know this one? I am still confused

Add 3y to both sides in the first equation. x - 3y = -9 x = 3y - 9 Now plug in 3y - 9 for x in the 2nd equation: 5(3y - 9) - 2y = 7. Now can you solve for y?
