how does the resolution of the plot in of mice and men indicate the author's point of view?

Well, the resolution isn't a real resolution. They leave the farm after Lenny kills the woman, and then George kills him to sort of put him out of his misery of being the one who always gets in trouble without meaning to. I guess the author's point of view is that Lenny held George back, and even with the promises they made to each other, Lenny would have continued to mess things up in Georges life and kill things, so he gave up the burden, even though he loved him
