Assume that there is a landslide with the shape of a half-cylinder, with the semicircular ends of the cylinder at the top and bottom of the slide and its long axis oriented vertically. The diameter of the half-cylinder is 200 m and its height is 200 m. Assume that the material in the landslide is soil and loose rock with a density twice that of water: 2 gm/cm3 = 2 metric tons/m3. What is the mass of material in the landslide?
