Change the second equation to slope-intercept form and look at the slopes. The slope is the coefficient of x in slope-intercept form. :) Parallel lines have the same slope and perpendicular lines have opposite reciprocal slopes.

Actually, it is neither b/c the slope of the first equation is negative and the second equation's slope is positive. :)
