The Declaration of Independence established the US as and independent country. It was issued during the Revolution and made it official. The Articles of Confederation was the loose union of states that emerged as our form of government after the Revolution. The Bill of Rights is 10 of the 12 amendments to the Constitution proposed during the ratification debate about the Constitution. The US Constitution was offered to the States as a better alternative to the Articles. When ratified, it became the supreme law of the land.
