X-intercept is the value of x when the line crosses the x-axis, i.e. when y=0. To find the x-intercept, take the equation, substitute y=0 and solve for x. Example: Find x-intercept of y=5x-12 1. set y=0, => 5x-12=0 2. solve for x=12/5=2.4
