I have to read the novel in order to answer this question, which me and you know quite well that's not the right choice, but I can still help. Foreshadowing is when the author gives the reader a hint of what's going to happen throughout the story. The hint can be shown through words, actions, or objects. For example, let's say a girl was heading home, and on her way, she glimpses a shadow of the person that's behind her reflecting in the walls or a mirror. In this scene, we know that the girl's life is in danger. The person that appeared mystically behind her gives us a hint of danger, or maybe throughout the story, we'll know that the girl got kidnapped or murdered, or who knows, maybe that person was someone very dear to her. Hope my example made the question easier for you. Reading can be troublesome or a waste of time to some, but from my experience, I regret not reading the novels that were given by my school. Reading is fundamental, and beneficial, as by reading much, you can advance your writing and expand your vocabulary.
