PLEASE HELP ME Why did the Persian emperor Darius invade Greece? Spartan forces under King Leonidas had attacked several Persian cities. He wanted to stop the fighting between Sparta and Athens. He wanted to avenge the defeat of his father, Xerxes. Athenians had helped Ionian cities when they revolted against the Persians.

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

seriously bro?

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

i like explained this 99 different ways in the other question

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

the ionians revolted in Pergamom and then fled to greece and darius pursued them

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

darius got his azz handed to him and fled back to persia

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

they never go another chance to attack and he died

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

xerxes got the throne and in honour of daddy darius sent another army

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

300 spartans and some athenians fought them off but the parsians kicked azz and burnt everything

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

then some smart lads got in boats and kicked persian azz at salamis

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

xerxes acknowledged he didnt have enough boats to get everyone back to persia and so he legged it

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

even in defeat there is victory

OpenStudy (praetorian.10):

deus vult
