Which of the following functions shown in the table below could not be an exponential function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@triciaal @satellite73

OpenStudy (triciaal):

I answered already

OpenStudy (anonymous):

an exponential function has to basically increase or decrease very fast.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The only two function that do this are g(x), and k(x).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@triciaal is a differ one?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

same type question means same process different numbers exponential function basically means the difference in the y value is not changing by the same amount as x changes from one number to the next consecutive number. in addition to that as stated by @rosho as well, the amount of change between the y values is a large amount an example:think of change in population for a particular town over a period of years example the square of numbers x = 1, 2, 3 ,4 corresponding y = 1, 4 9, 16

OpenStudy (triciaal):

do you see h(x) is not exponential because for every change in x the change in y is the same ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so g(x) and k(x)?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

no, read carefully

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h(x)?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

correct

OpenStudy (triciaal):

you you understand what an exponential function is now? plot the points for x^2 given in the example and see how the graph looks
