A 1500kg car is ascending a garage inclined at 10 degrees with constant speed when the force applied is P. Determine the magnitude of force if coefficient friction is 0.70. need a sensible answer pls

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Could you draw out your FBD (Free Body Diagram)?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

And welcome to OpenStudy, by the way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In what direction is the force to be applied.? Since the car is moving up with constant speed then the net upward force must balance the net frictional force...

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think this is thesituation described in your problem: |dw:1418467190871:dw|

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

where F_1 is the force due to slope, F_f is the force due to friction, so by the newton first law, the motion of your car at constant speed is possible if and only if \[F _{1}+F _{f}=P\]

here somebody looked at this http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/4e70a6470b8beaebb2a6802e
