anyone want to help me with a synthetic reaction?
i am not taking chem but i can try if you want me to.
If 72.5 grams of calcium metal (Ca) react with 65.0 grams of oxygen gas (O2) in a synthesis reaction, how many grams of the excess reactant will be left over when the reaction is complete? I mostly need the balanced equation.
oh...sorry i have no idea...sorry again
The first step to these types of problems is to take care of the chemistry first \(\sf \color{red}{always~do~this~first}\). Then, you can do the mathematics. Keep in mind that the equation is \(\sf \color{blue}{BALANCED}\)! Now, take a look at what you have here, calcium and oxygen. Keeping in mind that you have Ca\(^{2+}\) reacting with O\(_2\). Can you do the reaction now?
I can try, can I give you the answer before I submit it?? @abb0t
Yes.
