can anyone help me with this ill give medals and fan If y = 5x − 4, which of the following sets represents possible inputs and outputs of the function, represented as ordered pairs? {(0, −4), (2, 6), (4, 20)} {(0, −4), (2, 6), (4, 16)} {(0, 4), (2, 6), (4, 16)} {(0, 4), (2, −6), (4, 20)}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to check them all i guess kind of annoying for example \((0,-4)\) works because \[y=5\times 0-4=-4\] so if \(x=0\) then \(y=-4\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh that means you don't have to check them all, since it looks like you have two distinct choices go with the first one

OpenStudy (swamijatin2):

2nd set is correct by putting the vaue of x=0,1,4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you say its the second one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (swamijatin2):

yes u can check

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@satellite73 work matched up with his response

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh maybe i am confused is it 4 sets?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then yeah, the second one

OpenStudy (swamijatin2):

yes the right answer is second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you guys so much who gets the medal?

OpenStudy (swamijatin2):

i get the medal
