Why are Spanish accounts of contact with the Aztecs valuable to archaeologists and historians? They are written in a language still spoken today and include important details of the Aztec culture. The Spanish wrote objective descriptions of what they witnessed during their conquests. Their descriptions are highly biased and therefore valuable for the truths they contain. The Spanish worked hard to preserve the Aztec objects they collected.
