@hartnn

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any ideas? haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@surry99

OpenStudy (surry99):

no image is coming up for me to see

OpenStudy (surry99):

ok i see it now.

OpenStudy (surry99):

ok so force vs time is constant and the force is negative...agreed?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (surry99):

ok so is the force is negative and constant what does that tell you about acceleration?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

acceleration is zero?

OpenStudy (surry99):

no...try again...F=ma and force is negative and constant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

acceleration is negative as well then? idk lol

OpenStudy (surry99):

yes acceleration is negative....good. so if the acceleration on an object is negative is it speeding up of slowing down?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slowing down

OpenStudy (surry99):

good...now you need to look for a kinematic equation that relates position. time and acceleration.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

d=1/2 at^2+(vi)t?

OpenStudy (surry99):

sure that will work...now assume the acceleration is some negative number. If you started graphing d vs t starting at t = 0, what shape would you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be like a parabola

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait thats not right

OpenStudy (surry99):

yes parabola is correct but would it open up or down.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh open down
