(4x^2y-5x) - ( -3x^2+6x^2y-x)

OpenStudy (uri):

The same way as before,Can you try? I'll guide you through @Cassandra_Lea_96

OpenStudy (uri):

Change the sign's of the second parenthesis (if necessary)

OpenStudy (uri):

@ryanvarghese12790 WHY ARE YOU GIVING DIRECT ANSWER?! :O I told you not to.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@uri it is because, you are willing to do the explanations

OpenStudy (uri):

@ryanvarghese12790 It's her job to get to the answer, not ours.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay...I am sorry

OpenStudy (uri):

you did that twice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay... I admit.... it's jst that my computer is lagging at the moment, when I type long answers the post button disappears

OpenStudy (uri):

Use firefox.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know what to do but I always get caught in one spot and I have no idea where the problem lies sometimes i get others I dont' or something and I've got a huge time crunch but I know I'm supposed to remove the parenthesis, change the signs, combine the like terms and that should give me my answer I just don't know why sometimes it comes out right and others it doesn't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but mine does the same thing as far as the post button dissapearing I had to refresh three times in order to get this to post and i'm on firefox =/

OpenStudy (uri):

@Cassandra_Lea_96 okay solve it here,I'll tell if you go wrong. Post here step by step.

OpenStudy (uri):

@Cassandra_Lea_96 It's an OS glitch..happens at times nowadays,Okay focus on the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k. hold on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

( 4x^2y - 5x) - ( -3x^2 +6x^2y -x) 4x^2y -5x +3x^2 +6x^2y -x) 4x^2y + 6x^2y = 10x^2y -5x-x = -6x 10x^2y-6x+3x^2

OpenStudy (uri):

You forgot to change signs. First step.

OpenStudy (uri):

4x^2y -5x +3x^2 -6x^2y+x First step ^ now do the rest

OpenStudy (uri):

negative + negative = positive. positive+ negative = negative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought that's what I did there were two negatives so I made a positive it's the second line. The first line is the original problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nevermind I get it, I get it.
