Solve x^(2)-2x^(2)-x-3

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

this is not an equation (no '=')

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

do you just want to simplify it?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

\[x^2 -2x^2 -x-3\]Group these. \[(x^2-2x)+(-x-3)\]Take out the like terms from each group. So what is common between \(x^2-2x\) and \((-x-3)\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really have no clue. I'm working on midterm study guide and thats all it says. I'm so confused with this one.

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

have you made a typo jhanny?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

yes, I have.

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

\[(\color{red}{x^2} -2\color{red}{x^2})\]Sorry, out of these two highlighted variables, which one is smaller?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Either both of them are the same, or none of them.
