Local farmer's markets, CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) and local industries are being used more and more by American consumers in an attempt to develop more sustainability in the local community. Please describe how local agriculture and consumption of locally produced items helps develop sustainability in the local community from an environmental and economic standpoint.

Local farmers markets or CSA's help develop sustainability in communities by usually being cheaper and organic. It helps the ecosystem around it because its usually not sprayed with pesticides and other harmful substances. Now from an economic stand point, the food is cheaper and it supports the community by giving back to the community. Now instead of buying your foods from a CSA, a grocery store which is more industrial category tends to sell foods for more than they pay for. They also don't usually give back to the community along with more expensive foods
