how to step by step use the equations of circles formula

OpenStudy (triciaal):

where is the question in which you need to apply the equation of the circle formula? for example if you have the center (2, 3) and need to find the radius x^2 + y^2 = r^2 for a circle center (0, 0) and radius r (x-2)^2 + (y -3)^2 = r^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if its a positive it becomes a negative and vice versa ? and how do i put thing into a calculator

OpenStudy (triciaal):

https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you sooo much i wont graduate if i dont pass and you just helped me alot !!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and does that work vice versa? if it negative then it comes out positive an vice versa?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

basically yes like factors (x-2) = 0 then x = 2 (x + 2) = 0 then x = -2

OpenStudy (triciaal):

((x-(-4)) = x + 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks that really just helped me alot and i tried another website it would graph it right but not give you the right equation

OpenStudy (triciaal):

the equation of a circle can be considered an application of pythagorean theorem finding the change in length in relation to (0, 0) thus (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 where (h, k) is the center of the circle

OpenStudy (triciaal):

just curious, what did you enter?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would put it exactly as the equations says but it would come out the same way like if it was a positive 6 it would still say positive 6 which caused me to fail over an over

OpenStudy (triciaal):

do you have an example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Write an equation for a circle with center at (6, –2) and diameter = 12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry got to type it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Write an equation for a circle with center at (6, –2) and diameter = 12. Write an equation for a circle with center at (6, -2) and diameter = 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't know what all that is but the equation is the last sentence
