4(2z+6)-12=4
what we have to find
Hello @agray99 and Welcome to OpenStudy! :) to find z first we should distribute the 4 into the (2z + 6) do you know how to do that? :)
-1 is answer means value of z
i mean you got it lol
the answer is-4(2z+6)-12=4
i need to know how to get it
z=-5*
ahhh you forgot a negative there in your first question ^_^
my bad
that's ok first you would distribute the (-4) into the (8x + 6) then add like terms then add 36 to both sides then divide both sides by negative 8
oh sorry for my mistake i 5 is correct
distrubute (-4) where
distribute the (-4) into the (8x + 6) so (-4)*(8x) + (-4)*(6) = 4 can you simplify that? :)
wait it's -4(2z+6)-12=4 where did 8x=6 come in????
4(2z+6)-12=4 add 12 to both sides, what do you get? 4(2z+6) -12 + 12 = 4 + 12
oh my god i'm stupid you're making no sense
it's -4...
not 4
-4(2z+6)-12=4 -4(2z+6)=4+12 2z+6=16/-4 2z =-4-6 2z=-10 z=-10/2 z=-5
2z+6=16/-4 that's the most tricky part to realize. that you can divide that over
so can you tell me the exact process with words
-4(2z+6)-12=4 -4(2z+6)=4+12 2z+6=16/-4 2z =-4-6 2z=-10 z=-10/2 z=-5 this is corect now u can check
i'm sorry but can you explain this with words
okay this is equation-4(2z+6)-12=4 so we put -12 fromLHS to RHS that is -4(2z+6)=4 +12 then we put -4 to RHS that is (2z+6)=16/-4 -4 will devide by 16 because in LHS it was multiplied then, 2z+6 =16/-4=-4 then , 2z =-4-6 =-10 so z=-10 /2=-5
