In the carbon cycle, carbon can be pulled out of the atmosphere and dissolved in the world's oceans.The carbon will soon build up on the oceans floor and lithify into the rock, limestone. This way large amounts of carbon is stored within limestone rocks, this is also why you might see large cliffs of limestone near the ocean.
