y^2 - 8y +15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you want to do with it? there's alot of possible things i could do with this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is basically factorisation. \[y^2 -8y+15\] you have look for two numbers that multiply to get 15cand add to get -8 so, -3 and -5 so, you put it in brackets as (y-5)(y-3) to make sure, just expand the bracket.

\[(y-5)(y-3)\] is your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes oops sorry I forgot to put "factor" with the question, but yes I do thank you =)
