OpenStudy (anonymous):

I want to do the Eighth Amendment - Prohibition of excessive bail, as well as cruel and unusual punishment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok what does this PSA need?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

An imaginary name A catchy title or opening phrase Correct explanation of amendment in the student’s own words Explanation of why the amendment is important for citizens to know, written in the student’s own words. A correct example of how the Amendment would be used today

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lets start with the first one. Imaginary name

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Espen Reid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Who is Espen Reid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Imaginary name, Espen Reid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright @salt&pepper I will

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now a title?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd do this all myself but I have 2 whole other modules to do before Friday.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

guys? @salt&pepper @randypolle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lets do the title last and describe the amendment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The 8th amendment states that the punishment issued will be a reasonable one for the crime that was committed. It also states that the bail that is issued will follow the same fair system of reasonable amount in accordance to the crime that was committed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, the amendment protects criminals from being tortured

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and those are you own words or did you get them from the internet ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Reasonable punishment is really just prison time, probation, community service, or the death penalty in very severe cases. And, the administration of the death penalty cant be "cruel or unusual" They are my own words (;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The amendment is important for citizens to know because it allows them to be educated and to be able to fight for their rights when put on trial.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This amendment is used today in all court trials. For example, if you are put on trial for murder, you would not be eligible for the same punishment as someone who committed a misdemeanor crime.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im kind of blanking on a title, but that is the meat of the work done (;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thank you so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your welcome!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

medal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, got any ideas for a title?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you say title? do you mean a "real" name for the amendment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

irdk, the rubric says " A catchy title or opening statement"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha. It could probably be something like " Fair rights for individual criminals for their individual crimes " Haha. What online school are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

violence is not justice?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats good too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):
